Our PurposeOur purpose is to inspire music participation, create enthusiasm for scholarships through Tri-M and similar music programs, stimulate a desire to render service, and promote leadership in the music department students at FCHS.

Our GovernanceTri-M is under the sponsorship and supervision of MENC: The National Association for Music Education.

Requirements for & Maintenance of Tri-M Membership
Requirements for Application
- Students must be enrolled in at least one FCHS music performance ensemble (band, orchestra, and/or choir)
- Students must have a 4.0 Music GPA
- Students must have a 3.0 Overall GPA
- Students must pay a membership fee of $15
- 10 hours of community service must be completed throughout an academic school year
- All community service projects must be music related and pre-approved by an officer or music director
- If 10 hours are not completed by the end of the year, members will be put on probation if they re-apply the next year and be required to make up the hours they missed the previous year
- If seniors do not complete their 10 hours, they will not receive their cords
- At least 4 concerts per year must be attended (in which members have no involvement)
- Only 2 concerts of the 4 can be school concerts
- The other two must involve musicians who are not in FCHS Music, such as Front Range Chamber Players
- Students involved in Tri-M for all four years will receive a double cord for graduation (purple and pink), while students involved for less than four years will receive a single cord for graduation
